Home & Apparel Store Sales Associate (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and offer assistance in finding products.
• Ask probing questions to understand customer needs and provide tailored recommendations.
• Promote sales, promotions, and special offers to encourage purchases.
• Handle customer complaints in a calm, professional manner and work toward solutions.
• Cross-sell and upsell by suggesting complementary products.
• Share design service options to help customers enhance their homes.

Store Maintenance & Merchandising:

• Maintain store presentation, including product displays, signage, and floor layout.
• Restock shelves and prepare new products for display.
• Organize back stock and assist with inventory counts.
• Ensure the sales floor remains tidy, organized, and welcoming at all times.

Sales Transactions:

• Operate POS system to process cash, check, and credit card payments.
• Request customer names and emails during checkout and enter them into the Shopify database.
• Complete transactions efficiently, ensuring a smooth checkout experience.

Team Collaboration & Support:

• Collaborate with team members to meet sales targets and store goals.
• Support other areas of the business, including the home store, apparel store, and warehouse, as needed.
• Follow direction from supervisors and report on key activities.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
• Communication: Strong communication skills and a passion for interacting with customers.
• Initiative: Self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and jump in as needed.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using POS systems and other computer applications.
• Personality: Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic in person and over the phone.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work Flexibility: Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Team Player: Willing to support both clothing and home stores, as well as warehouse duties, based on business needs.
• Location: Flexible, with shifts that may require working in multiple areas (home store, apparel store, warehouse).
• Shifts: Must be available for part-time work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
